Oral Suspension
Description
Oral macrolide antibiotic; penetrates lung tissue and macrophages to a greater degree than erythromycin; used for respiratory tract infections, STDs, otitis media, and MAC in AIDS patients; used in combination regimens for H. pylori eradication.
Composition
Each Suspension contains: Clarithromycin 125mg & 250mg. (BP Specs).
Indication
KLAMZON is used; For the treatment of acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. For the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). For the treatment of sinusitis. For the treatment of uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections. For the treatment of acute otitis media. For the treatment of disseminated Mycobacterium avium complex infection (MAC) in HIV-positive patients. For Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) prophylaxis in HIV-infected patients. For Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication. For bacterial endocarditis prophylaxis. For the treatment of pertussis (whooping cough) caused by Bordetella pertussis. For postexposure pertussis prophylaxis. For the treatment of pharyngitis (primary rheumatic fever prophylaxis) or tonsillitis caused by susceptible strains of Streptococcus pyogenes (group A beta-hemolytic streptococci).
