Oral proton pump inhibitor (PPI), gastric antisecretory agent. Used for GERD, erosive esophagitis, and hypersecretory conditions; also used in antimicrobial combination regimens for H. pylori eradication. Available OTC for heartburn.

Composition

Each capsule contains enteric coated pellets of Omeprazole equivalent to Omeprazole 20mg & 40mg. (USP Specs)

Indication

REMEZON is used: For the short-term, self-treatment of frequent dyspepsia or pyrosis (heartburn) that occurs 2 or more times per week. For the treatment of erosive esophagitis (erosive GERD). For the treatment of non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). For the short-term treatment of active benign gastric ulcer. For the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcer. For Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication. For the long-term treatment of gastric hypersecretory conditions, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, systemic mastocytosis, and multiple endocrine adenoma syndrome. For stress gastritis prophylaxis in critically-ill patients. For NSAID-induced ulcer prophylaxis. For the treatment of proton pump inhibitor–responsive esophageal eosinophilia (PPI-REE) in the differential diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).
